The lack of investment in innovation to make it possible for individuals to work productively from any area recommends that employers are underprepared for the truths of hybrid work

The absence of investment in innovation to make it possible for people to work proficiently from any area recommends that employers are underprepared for the realities of hybrid work. Over half (54 percent) of European organization choice makers believe that in-office collaboration is essential to the future success of their organisation. Despite this desire, just 27 percent believe their company will go back to a five-day office-based week in the next 12 months– more questioning their lack of financial investment in hybrid working tools.

David Mills, CEO, Ricoh Europe, states: « Employers plainly value in-person collaboration– however they should strike a delicate balance in between securing culture and a sense of group, typically best experienced though office-based working, with the virtues of hybrid working. It is important to remember that technology that assists performance for hybrid work will benefit people while they are in the office, too. This is especially real for automation and AI based tools, which workers increasingly crave, because it releases them from repetitive, low value work, to concentrate on more rewarding jobs. »

Nicola Downing, COO, Ricoh Europe, adds: « Companies have actually weathered more than their fair share of disruption over the past 18 months. While they have actually shown incredible durability, they run the risk of losing the skill that has stayed with them throughout of the pandemic if they stop working to invest in the innovation that will boost productivity for the hybrid work period and beyond. Companies ought to keep in mind that developing hybrid working practices, which put worker needs at the heart of choice making, shows dedication and understanding of the obstacles these employees have actually dealt with, increases efficiency and fosters loyalty. »
