The European Union officially adopted on Wednesday the latest sanctions package against Russia and the measures entered into force.
The sanctions, which among others target Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu, were announced on Tuesday in response to Moscow’s recognition of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics as independent.
Meanwhile, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire noted the bloc is set to discuss a broader set of sanctions against Russia which will be imposed in case of further invasion of Ukraine.
