United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told her colleagues in a letter that Democrats in the lower chamber will not vote on a spending package with a price tag higher than the one that is passed by the Senate.
House and Senate panels are currently reviewing the legislation, looking for potential Byrd rule violations that could change the topline number, which stands at $3.5 trillion as of now.
« The House and Senate are already in agreement on most of the bills, » said Pelosi. « We must be prepared for adjustments according to the Byrd rule and an agreed-to number, » she added.
