Mario Party Superstars is on a roll with new overview trailer

Nintendo are ready to stir up more (mostly) good-natured arguments with the launch of Mario Party Superstars later this month.

A new overview trailer gives us a good idea of what we can expect in this ‘best-of’ compendium. Five boards from the N64 era of the series make their return including Yoshi’s Tropical Island and Peach’s Birthday Cake from the first Mario Party. Space Land and Horror Land from Mario Party 2 joins them, alongside Woody Woods from Mario Party 3. Nintendo has granted each board a modern makeover to spruce them up for 2021, but that’s not the only addition.

Online play is fully supported from launch, unlike previous Switch entry Super Mario Party which only added that in a patch earlier this year. Moreover, you’ll even be able to play with players via random matchmaking. If you’re playing Mario Party Superstars with friends meanwhile, you’ll even be able to save your progress mid-session to return to later.

Aside from the boards, there’s a bunch of more than 100 mini-games from across the series to discover. There’s also a Mt. Minigames mode, that will offer daily challenges, 2v2 tag battle matches and more. There’s even some special minigames you won’t find on the boards. And yes, these minigame modes also support online play too.

Mario Party Superstars is set to land exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on October 29. Check out the trailer below.
