Customer self-confidence in the United States fell in February, according to the current report by the Conference Board on Tuesday. The Customer Self-confidence Index dropped from 111.1 in January to 110.5 in February. The Present Circumstance Index enhanced from 144.5 to 145.1, while the Expectations Index dropped from 88.8 in January to 87.5.
» Concerns about inflation increased once again in February, after posting back-to-back decreases. In spite of this reversal, customers stay fairly confident about short-term growth potential customers. While they do not expect the economy to pick up steam in the future, they likewise do not predict conditions getting worse. Confidence and consumer costs will continue to face headwinds from rising prices in the coming months, » said Senior Director of Economic Indicators Lynn Franco.
