House Speaker Nancy Pelosi took to Twitter on Tuesday to condemn Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans for their refusal to support lifting the United States debt limit.
« Two years ago, @LeaderMcConnell said: ‘America can’t default. That would be a disaster.’ Yet, now he and @SenateGOP are trying to force the first-ever default of the US. All Members must come together in a spirit of bipartisanship to protect the full faith and credit of the US., » the Democrat leader tweeted.
The Kentucky senator previously said that Democrats should approve the debt limit raise alone since they control the whole government.
